I overheard one of my cousin’s admonishing his son for a shoddy effort on a school project once and he said something that rung the bell of truth so loud and clear that it bears repeating here and now. He said “No, man, you cannot be anything you want to be. You can be anything you prepare yourself to be.” That was a mic drop for my cousin. On the subject of preparation I’ll share this:
If I had two hours to cut down a tree, I’d spend one hour sharpening my ax.
You probably have enough exposure and discernment to know exactly what that means and how to apply it to your life today and hopefully every day. Achieving any goal requires working in preparation before the work begins. So get that ax good and sharp so you can take that tree down today. Good luck and Godspeed.
