There is nothing that provides greater insight into a person’s character than observing how they wield the power they hold in their hands. Mankind has learned the hard lesson that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. But how that power functions rests entirely on the character of the person holding it.
Most of us have had occasion to corral our own instincts and reflexes to ensure that we are wielding our power in the right way- whatever that might be for us. Those of us that are fit to lead others seek to govern with our heads more than our hearts. Accordingly, we try to think through everything we do to make sure we are not abusing our power based on emotions run amok. It is not always easy, but we should always keep in mind that

So take note of how a person handles themselves with the people that they have power over. You will learn everything you need to know about who they are and what they value through that exercise.
